9 days through Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara

A broad Kenyan safari linking the distinctive wildlife of the north with rhino conservation, Rift Valley scenery and the celebrated plains of the Maasai Mara. The route moves at a measured pace from Samburu to Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru and the Mara, creating a varied journey through four exceptional wildlife areas.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Nairobi

Meet your representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to your Nairobi hotel. Relax after your flight or add a city experience if time permits.

Day 2 Nairobi to Samburu

Travel north through Kenya’s central highlands to Samburu. Arrive for lunch or an afternoon check-in, followed by an introductory game drive.

Day 3 Full day in Samburu

Explore the Ewaso Nyiro river corridor and surrounding drylands in search of elephant, predators and Samburu’s distinctive northern species.

Day 4 Samburu to Ol Pejeta

Drive south to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Laikipia and Mount Kenya region. Take an afternoon game drive en route to your camp or lodge.

Day 5 Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru

Begin with a conservation-focused experience or short game drive, then travel into the Rift Valley and continue to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Day 6 Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara

Explore Lake Nakuru in the morning, looking for rhinos, giraffes, buffalo and birds. Continue to the Maasai Mara and arrive for an evening at camp.

Day 7 Maasai Mara predator country

Spend a full day on safari across the Mara plains, following current wildlife movement with your driver-guide.

Day 8 A second full day in the Mara

Use a second full day to explore another sector of the reserve or adjoining ecosystem. Optional experiences may include a balloon safari or responsibly arranged community visit.

Day 9 Return to Nairobi

Take a final early drive if time permits, then return to Nairobi by road or optional scheduled flight for your onward journey.
