Eastern and Northern Uganda 8-Day Heritage Trail

8 days through Jinja, Sipi, Nyero, Gulu, Murchison Falls and Kampala

Travel beyond Uganda’s best-known safari circuit on a journey shaped by heritage, landscape and living culture. Follow the Nile east to Jinja, hike at Sipi Falls, see the ancient Nyero rock art, spend time in Acholi cultural spaces around Gulu and finish with the wildlife and drama of Murchison Falls.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Entebbe

Meet the Bellmon Adventures team at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2 Jinja and the road to Mbale

Travel east through Mabira Forest to Jinja for a Source of the Nile experience, then continue through agricultural landscapes to Mbale.

Day 3 Nyero rock art and Sipi Falls

Visit the Nyero Rock Paintings with a local guide, then continue to Sipi Falls for a scenic hike tailored to the group’s pace and conditions.

Day 4 Mbale to Gulu

Drive north to Gulu with lunch en route. Visit selected cultural and historical sites, including a museum or the Ker Kwaro Acholi cultural institution, subject to confirmed access.

Day 5 Acholi heritage and community experience

Spend the day learning about Acholi history and contemporary life through locally guided visits, storytelling, music, dance and community activities.

Day 6 Karuma and Murchison Falls National Park

Travel towards Murchison Falls with a stop near Karuma. Enter the park and take the confirmed wildlife activity, which may include a game drive, Nile boat safari or visit to the top of the falls.

Day 7 Kampala city highlights

Return to Kampala and visit a selection of cultural landmarks such as the Kabaka’s Palace, Uganda Museum, Makerere University and the Baha’i Temple, subject to time and access.

Day 8 Departure from Entebbe

Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
