1 Day Chimpanzee Visit

Take a boat cruise out on Lake Victoria to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and have a chance to view chimpanzees feeding. You will also be treated to sights of monitor lizards, birds, and photographic opportunities. We arrange half day trip, and the speed boats at 12:45pm.

The speedboat takes approximately 45 minutes from Entebbe to the island.

Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to the visitor’s center where you will be introduced to the project, its history, residents and their plight. you will receive a personal orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view the feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence.

Founded in 1901, This stands to be the oldest golf course in East and Central Africa famous for its long protruding pine trees that shape its roughs and mower smooth fairways. Hitting long and playing smart will save you an

Entebbe Golf Club is an 18 holes course at Par 71 (F9=35 & B9=36) covering 6784 yards from the Men’s Tee boxes and 5761 yards from the Ladies’ Tee boxes. The course encompasses Five Par 5’s, Seven Par 4’s and Six Par 3’s to give you a challenging yet exciting experience.

UWEC popularly known as "Entebbe Zoo" was opened in 1952, as a reception center for wild animals that were found as casualties (sick, injured, orphaned, confiscated from illegal trade). In the early 1960s, it changed its role to a zoo where a number of non-indigenous species, including bears and tigers, were kept as an attraction.

The Centre's location on the edge of Lake Victoria, its rich vegetation and its surprisingly wide range of birds, butterflies and other free and roaming animals make it an attractive venue for education and Uganda safari enthusiasts.

Uganda Golf Club is an 18-hole course set right in the heart of Kampala City. The Club has held out to remain the last expansive stretch of greenery in the city, a welcoming haven in the bustling Capital.

Set in a valley, the course is renowned for its undulating fairways and the Kitante stream that runs right through the valley to Lake Victoria. The course offers great entertainment and a challenging but fair test of golf. Our staff are sure to make your round an enjoyable experience with our experienced caddies offering you the right lines and advice along the way.

Measuring 6,732 yards in length from the Blue Tees, with a par of 72, the course is a great test and suitable for golfers of all age and experience.

Uganda Golf Club has all the golf amenities including a driving range, as well as putting and chipping areas. In addition, there is a bar and restaurant to enjoy even when you just want to socialize.

Location- Jinja near the source of the Nile. This is 73 km from Kampala

The Jinja Club was established in 1912 and it has several facilities like a swimming pool, tennis court, squash house, a nine-hole golf course and a clubhouse in which there is a snooker room, locker and wash rooms for both ladies and gentlemen, and a fully functional bar and kitchen.

River Nile is well known to be the longest river in the world. Its source starts right from Jinja Uganda, some people may be wondering how the name Nile come about. It’s a famous Greek word simply meaning valley. The river starts from the Northeastern part of Africa. It flows from the surrounding areas close to the equator to the outrageous Safari desert and up to the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The river is about 6696km long and pours its water to over nine countries although it’s more centered to Uganda as well as Egypt.

Places to Visit in Kampala

Kampala is Uganda’s capital city and home to over 4 million people. It has everything from beautiful parks, museums, shopping malls, restaurants, nightlife, and even a theatre. Kampala is a great place to visit, but it’s also a great place to live. In fact, many expats choose to move here because of its low cost of living, high quality of life, and affordable housing.

I will share with you our top 10 must-visit places on your Kampala city tour. These include:

1. Kabaka’s Palace

Kabaka’s Palace is in Kampala, Uganda. It was built between 1894 and 1901 by King Mutesa II. The palace is situated on the hilltop of Mengo, overlooking the city of Kampala. There are two main entrances to the palace. One entrance leads to the royal chambers, while the other leads to the public areas of the palace. Visitors must pass through security checkpoints to enter the palace grounds.

Inside, visitors can view exhibits featuring the life of King Mutesa II, traditional African clothing, and artworks including masks, drums, and spears. The palace is located near Makerere University campus. It is open daily from 8am to 5pm. Entry costs $10 per person. Today, the palace also houses a museum where visitors can learn more about the history of the Buganda kingdom.

2. Gaddafi National Mosque

One of Uganda’s most famous landmarks, the Uganda National Mosque began construction in 1972 and was completed in 2006. It has since become a symbol of Kampala. The mosque is located in the center of town and is open to visitors from all over the world.

It’s easy to visit the mosque if you’re staying in Kampala. Simply walk down the road toward the river and look for the large building with the green dome. There’s no entrance fee, but donations are accepted.

3. Namugongo Martyrs’ Shrine

Namugongo Martyrs’ Shrine is located in Kampala. It was built in memory of the Namugongo Martyrs who were killed during the reign of King Mwanga II. The shrine was constructed in 1892 by King Mwanga II and his wife, Queen Nakiwogo.

The shrine has become a sacred place where Ugandans gather to pray and celebrate their culture. Many festivals are held here annually, including the "Mukunguza" celebration in April. The shrine is open daily from 8am to 5pm.

4. The Baha’i Temple

The Baha’i Temple in Kampala was built in 1972 and dedicated in 1974. It is the largest Baha’i house of worship outside of Iran. The building is designed to resemble a traditional Ugandan home, and features artwork created by local artists.

The temple is open daily from 8am to 5pm. Visitors must register at the front desk and present identification. The Baha’i Faith, founded in Iran in 1844 by Bahá’u’lláh, emphasizes unity among all people and religions.

5. Uganda National Museum

Founded in 1894 by Sir Henry Morton Stanley, the Uganda National Museum is the oldest museum in East Africa. It houses over 30 galleries filled with African art, cultural objects, and historical artifacts. Features include a planetarium, natural history exhibits, and a botanical garden.

Visitors can buy tickets online or at the entrance. It is advised to book in advance during peak times. Note: Shoes are required inside the museum.

6. Ndere Cultural Centre

Ndere Centre is a cultural hub located in Kampala City. Established in 1996 and expanded in 2003, it is home to the Ndere Cultural Troupe. The center hosts art exhibitions, music concerts, theatre performances, and traditional dance shows.

It offers a peaceful space for visitors to experience Ugandan culture, history, and heritage. It's an ideal stop for tourists seeking cultural immersion.

7. Buganda Road Craft Village

Buganda Road Craft Village is a marketplace in Kampala where artisans from all over Uganda sell handcrafted items. With over 100 craftspeople, it offers a unique opportunity to purchase souvenirs and learn about Uganda’s rich craft heritage.

Namirembe Cathedral, built between 1885 and 1888, is one of Kampala’s iconic landmarks. The cathedral features beautiful stained-glass windows created by artist John Lavery and houses the Namirembe Museum with historical artifacts.
